Eusoff is chairman of Alcatel's Malaysian unit
PARIS-based Alcatel has named Tun Mohd Eusoff Chin as the chairman of its Malaysian subsidiary, Alcatel Network Systems (M) Sdn Bhd. Alcatel managing director in Malaysia, Datuk Yusof Ampuan Kecil, said the combination of Eusoff's leadership ability and extensive government service will be an asset to the company.
Eusoff was the Chief Justice of Malaysia for six years until his retirement in 2000.
Eusoff, in a statement released in Kuala Lumpur, said since retiring from government service, "I have been looking for an opportunity to further contribute to our country's development.
"In accepting this offer from Alcatel, I have found that opportunity, given the vital role that technology will play in Malaysia's future," he added.

Somtime ago, I wrote an article in the Aliran regarding the working of public service retirees in privagte sectors on retirement.
Private Sector companies are looking for people with links in goverment departments, e.g. police, immigration,judiciary, railways etc. in order to obtain business connection.
This is a new dangerous trend in Malaysia. Retired public servants looking for easy money.
Actually, they cannot contribute anything, except the link, e.g. in the case Eusoff Chin,what can he contribute to the Alcatel which is I presume, a electronic related company
If and when the company gets into any legal problem, Yusoff can work out things with the judiciary on his links.
The Government should enact a law
forbidding the former public servants from working for private
sectors with exhorbitant salaries
which they may not declare to the income tax authorities.
Do you know that the the former Police chief works for the Genting Highlands Hotels for a monthly salary of $50,000 plus all the perks. SHOCKING STATE OF AFFAIRS.
